About us

Your smile is our passion

We make you dare smile! Beautiful, healthy teeth are not only for chewing.

The facial character, or a pleasant smile, plays an important role in judging people — how attractive and convincing we find them. This affection and positive perception is paramount in everyday life.

Exquisite teeth and a healthy, natural smile are essential parts of a well-groomed appearance. I believe that a confident, beautiful smile is the most precious piece of jewelry one can wear.

Nevertheless, aesthetics is not the only thing to consider. Individualised, precisely defined, uniquely designed and well-fitting shapes and colours result in perfect articulation, phonetics and aesthetic appearance for any patient. In achieving this we use our many years of experience, both in the field of patient communication and restorative dental techniques.

We have the ability to produce well-functioning, high-quality, aesthetic dentures, that make the wearer happy and self-confident.

This is our profession and our creed.

Introduction

Welcome to my website.
My name is Kata Győrik. I'm owner and managing director of Articulatio Dental. A dental technician for almost 30 years.…
My days are spent with putting things in order, restoring what has been destroyed by time and unfavourable circumstances. I bring back what has been lost and attempt to do it unnoticed. Ideally, I only replace a few missing teeth, embellish what is worn out. I restore to the ideal colour, shape and, last but not least, function, what was once created by nature, then eroded during use.

In certain cases, when all the teeth have already been lost, only the anatomical formulas on the mucous membranes of the jawbones and the movements of the jaw joint provide information on what kind of dentures can be made to ideally and aesthetically replace the original but, unfortunately, missing teeth, so that the owner can wear them with confidence. This requires considerable expertise.

Dental technology is a complex profession. In addition to an accurate, detailed knowledge of anatomy and gnathology, professional knowledge of dental materials and technologies, their routine application in accordance with the situation at hand, plentiful of manual dexterity, good observational skills, intuition and diligence are necessary to master it. Jokingly speaking, I mix this "cocktail" every day so that everyone leaves happy, satisfied and with the most pleasant memory possible.

Over the years, I have obtained a degree in dental hygiene, so I can draw the attention of patients to prevention and proper oral care in the early stages. Unfortunately, accurate information is not always available — however, with a small investment, professional oral care once a year can significantly reduce gum loss and major dental treatments that occur in old age.

The period of primary prevention is pregnancy. This is the ideal time for the mother and the unborn baby to become familiar with the oral care and nutritional habits that help maintain healthy teeth and gums. This is my job.

Cosmetic dentures

veneers, inlays, onlays

Aesthetics is a requirement for dentures in the 21st century. Making dentures may involve compromises, but in all cases, the finished denture must have a natural effect, except for the few special cases when the patient requests otherwise.

For aesthetic dental restorations, shells/veneers, inlays, onlays, crowns and bridges are made without metal. Full ceramic restorations look much more authentic compared to others because of their light transmission. Under the same lighting conditions, they behave similarly to natural teeth and do not seem artificial at the gum edge, where, for protection of the gum, the crown is rather thin.

Cosmetic dentistry is a little more than that. This branch of dentistry was brought to life by the need to make the shape, colour, size and position of the teeth even more ideal than the original, more harmoniously suited to the facial character, more perfect, and, possibly, in a lighter shade. Not necessarily because the teeth need treatment, but for the sake of the so-called "Hollywood smile", which means something slightly different to all of us, but is an immaculate smile that endows its wearer with a sense of youthfulness, self-confidence and a high social position.

In these cases, a preliminary, in-depth consultation takes place, planning the objectives and methods, carrying out smile design, visualising the end result using various techniques.

With cosmetic dentures, it may not be necessary to chisel teeth. In some cases, it is possible to create a new smile in a non-invasive manner.

Biofunctional dentures

Dentures — a little different... Compromise-free aesthetics and function

Many people make many promises when it comes to creating removable dentures. When a significant number of the teeth have already been lost and one doesn't want or doesn't have the opportunity to have implants inserted, removable dentures are the only solution.

What makes a good denture?

  1. it must feel comfortable and easy to wear
  2. it must fit in every situation
  3. it should harmoniously complement the facial character
  4. it must provide its wearer with self-assurance and a sense of naturalness

In order to achieve all the above goals, we make our dentures using the biofunctional prosthetic system (BPS) protocol.

Dentures are expensive, why not choose something cheaper?

The prices of the materials used in dentistry are high, and the manufacturers carry out serious research in order to ensure that the materials they develop are sufficiently wear-resistant, mouth-resistant, aesthetic, and more akin to natural teeth. These improvements cost much money. There is a significant difference in quality amongst the products on the dental market. No-one can produce cheap dentures using high-quality (expensive) materials if they do precise work and adhere to technological standards.

Therefore, cheap dentures lack something — the quality material, — the expertise or — the time spent!

Why is this a problem?

Cheap artificial teeth are softer and wear out faster. After 2-3 years of wear, significant deterioration is already visible on them, which also affects chewing by an inaccurate contact with the opposite dentition. Chewing affects the jaw joint and digestion.

In terms of their aesthetics, they are also less authentic. As a result of rapid wear and tear, the edges and small features of the incisors wear off within a few years.

Making a good set of dentures cannot be imagined in a couple of days. Combining or omitting work processes is at the expense of determining the fit of the denture and the accurate positions of the teeth.

A well-designed denture not only fits well in the mouth, but due to the positions of the teeth, it fills the lips and reduces wrinkles around the face. It provides the face with a healthy character during speech and even when the mouth is closed.

We make our dentures using German and Swiss materials exclusively.

We apply the internationally accepted biofunctional prosthetic system process and the Gerber method, which includes a precise and detailed anatomical analysis of the face and jawbones, as well as diagnostics of the jaw joint to ensure high-quality functionality and aesthetics.

We guarantee our dentures for two years.

Invisible orthodontic treatment

Inconspicuous, removable, comfortable.

The aligner-type invisible orthodontic system is a gentle, yet effective system, with the help of which the denture becomes perfect in a shorter time, with minimal tooth sensitivity. Furthermore, all this goes unnoticed.

In the case of the correction of mild disorders, this aesthetic and hygienic orthodontic system works much more precisely and quickly than traditional, fixed-on-teeth, braces.

Thanks to 3D technology, we model the movement of the teeth in advance with the help of software until the regular final state. The treatment puts the teeth in their desired position, step by step, with the help of medical plastic splints that are to be changed every two to three weeks. In simpler cases, it may be unnecessary to return to the clinic during the treatment. In most cases the patient receives all the orthodontic splints upfront, and only returns for a control examination at the end of the process.

If you want to avoid eating and oral care difficulties associated with fixed braces; if you want aesthetic and unnoticeable braces; if you prefer not to return for a control exam every two or three weeks; if there is an event in your life when you prefer not to wear braces for a couple of hours; or if you have a metal allergy — invisible braces are the best choice for you!

Dental prophylaxis

professional tartar removal

The core objective of dentistry is prevention, keeping the teeth healthy, which can be achieved with correct, tailor-made and age-appropriate dental care, well-chosen oral care tools and the ideal brushing technique... admittedly, the cheapest as well as the most natural solution.

Regular professional dental cleansing performed by a dental hygienist — dental prophylaxis — and the so-called deep cleaning are important factors in maintaining healthy teeth.

Plaque is deposited on the surface of the teeth, between the teeth and at the edges of the gums as a result of improper brushing, which hardens into tartar over time. Brushing can no longer remove it. Bacteria multiply on the tartar, and the teeth and gums start degrading. This process can be prevented by regular professional teeth cleaning performed by a dental hygienist — which includes ultrasonic tartar removal, cleaning and polishing of the teeth with a special device.

During the treatment, the dental hygienist has the opportunity to inspect the teeth, the already existing dentures and the soft tissues in the oral cavity — the gums and tongue, the cheek surface facing the oral cavity, and the areas under the tongue. In case an abnormality is detected, the patient is alerted to this, possibly referred to a specialist. This gives every patient the opportunity to identify and stop pathological processes in time that may start in the oral cavity.

Expectant mothers, as a result of hormonal changes during pregnancy, often develop gingivitis, the treatment of which is of high significance for maintaining healthy teeth. During the visit, we may provide personalised oral care advice and jointly select oral care tools in order to protect not only the mother's but also the unborn baby's teeth. It is important to realise that the flora of the oral cavity of the mother and the baby are always related to each other. The period of pregnancy is ideal for preparation and prevention.
